Standing for the German national organisation for standardisation, DIN was first introduced in 1923 by Frankfurt foundry, D. Stempel AG, and acclaimed for its legibility and bluntness that would best represent or suit the fields of engineering, technology, traffic and administration. The design later lent the basis for the more recent redesign, FF DIN, followed by a growing popularity with international designers and brands.

Centring on DIN and its variations in contemporary graphic design, I Love DIN is the fourth volume of I Love Type, masterly produced by Viction:ary and prolific Spanish creative duo, TwoPoints.Net. Aiming for a focused study on some of the most classic typefaces that have been a great influence to the creative industry for centuries, each volume of the I Love Type series is witness to the fashionable comeback and revival of time-honoured typefaces in contemporary design. The collection now features I Love Futura (Vol. 1), I Love Avant Garde (Vol. 2) and I Love Bodoni (Vol. 3).

Prior to the project showcase, Dutch type designer Albert-Jan Pool tells you how he encountered Erik Spiekermann before he was convinced to create FF DIN in 1995.
